A CHRISTMAS thought

Many, many years ago

East of here or west of there

Ringing bells announced to them

Royalty was born in Bethlehem

Young and old, their sins He’d bear

Christ was born on this day

Hatred be gone, for this I pray

Restful peace filled with lasting joy

In loving company may you enjoy

Share your joy, hold out your hand

To every race and in every land

May this day bring you joy to last

Almighty Lord forgive our past

Sweet Jesus, upon us Thy love cast.

Christmas cheer

Merry days and spirits high
Love unbound across the sky
Season’s greetings and joyful thought
Purity of life to all be brought

Most have all to be thankful for
Never know the dismay of a closed door

Do we stop to consider or give a though

To the joys that life to us has brought

A child gone, a mother’s heart lost
A soul mate not there, death a heavy cost
An ailing soul that torment knows
The pain within them forever grows

Son has gone to land afar
To protect us all and danger bar
May they too feel the season’s cheer
May enemy filled with love the war clear

To those that have lost someone close
My heart to you with love it goes
Be it father, mother, son or lover
May you now from the pain recover

Join as one in Christmas cheer
Join with us the departed so dear
May life to all be perfectly whole
Bringing love and joy to your very soul

Merry Christmas
